Whoa! Holy Cow!

You found W0HC’s ham radio web page.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my website!

This website will be a place for me, W0HC, to share a bit of information about myself, my hamshack, and any other information that may or may not be interesting.

From the time I first got a ham license in 1991 until the summer of 2008, my callsign was N0NPI. I found that people were always getting it wrong, especially on HF. It didn’t matter how many times I said it using standard phonetics they always messed it up. So when I upgraded to Extra class I decided it was time for a new callsign. W0HC was available, and it seemed like “Hotel Charlie” would be easy for people to get right. The only problem is that my friends were having a hard time remembering my new callsign, until I remembered what someone had said when they saw my new callsign, “Whoa, holy cow!”. And it stuck. I am now known by several people as “Holy Cow”. I guess it could have been a lot worse.

The original W0HC.com didn’t use the “Holy Cow” theme, but the more I thought about it the more I decided that my page should indeed be Holy Cow themed. And here it is. I may even have to make some Holy Cow QSL cards someday. Feel free to snoop around the site.  Most of the content will be in the Blog section.
